15Piezomaterials are known to display enhanced energy conversion efficiency at nanoscale due to geometrical effect and improved mechanical properties. Although piezoelectric nanowires have been the most widely and dominantly researched structure for this application, there only exist a limited number of piezomaterials that can be easily manufactured into nanowires, thus, developing effective and reliable means of preparing nanostructures from a wide variety of piezomaterials is essential for the a
Abstract Recent supercapacitors show a high power density with long‐term cycle life time in energy‐powering applications. A supercapacitor based on a single metal electrode accompanying multivalent cations, multiple charging/discharging kinetics, and high electrical conductivity is a promising energy‐storing system that replaces conventionally used oxide and sulfide materials. Here, a hierarchically nanostructured 2D‐Zn metal electrode‐ion supercapacitor (ZIC) is reported which significantly enh
Abstract Monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides are considered to be promising candidates for flexible and transparent optoelectronics applications due to their direct bandgap and strong light-matter interactions. Although several monolayer-based photodetectors have been demonstrated, single-layered optical memory devices suitable for high-quality image sensing have received little attention. Here we report a concept for monolayer MoS 2 optoelectronic memory devices using artificially-struct
in our heterobilayer increases monotonically with tensile strain and decreases with compressive strain. We attribute the strain-dependent emission behavior of the heterobilayer to the modulation of the band structure for each monolayer, which is dictated by the alterations in the band gap transitions. These findings present an important pathway toward designing heterostructures and flexible devices.
Transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) monolayers are considered to be potential materials for atomically thin electronics due to their unique electronic and optical properties. However, large‐area and uniform growth of TMDC monolayers with large grain sizes is still a considerable challenge. This report presents a simple but effective approach for large‐scale and highly crystalline molybdenum disulfide monolayers using a solution‐processed precursor deposition. The low supersaturation level, tr

The cells have a high power conversion of 9.05% and a short-circuit current density of 32.51 mA cm –2 . A reliable and effective stratagem for fabricating high-quality lead sulfide quantum dots (QD) is explored through a “monomer” concentration-controlled experiment. Robust QDSC performances with different b
Abstract Smart wearable electronics that are fabricated on light‐weight fabrics or flexible substrates are considered to be of next‐generation and portable electronic device systems. Ideal wearable and portable applications not only require the device to be integrated into various fiber form factors, but also desire self‐powered system in such a way that the devices can be continuously supplied with power as well as simultaneously save the acquired energy for their portability and sustainability
Abstract Flexible electronics and optoelectronics based on monolayered, semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) channel have recently received attention as the 2D structure possess superior mechanical, optical, and electrical properties. However, there is a lack of understanding of strain‐dependent electrical and photoelectrical properties in the electrode‐TMDC channel system. Here, two‐terminal flexible device is fabricated and strain‐engineered contact barrier modulation betwee
p-type ZnO nanowires (NWs) based on a simple hydrothermal technique with a lithium dopant are demonstrated. It is demonstrated that Li substitution of Zn occurrs because of thermally induced migration due to post-annealing in the presence of oxygen. The stable formation of p-type ZnO:Li NWs is revealed using a NW field-effect transistor and a simple n-type ZnO thin film/p-type annealed ZnO:Li NW homojunction diode. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting I
We have shown the enhanced piezoelectricity by electrostatic effects on a textile based platform. The electrostatic and piezoelectric effects were hybridized by integrating piezoelectric ZnO nanowires and a charged dielectric film on a wearable textile substrate. The hybrid textile nanogenerator produced an output voltage of 8 V and an output current of 2.5 μA. Using a simple AC–DC converter circuit, we operated the green organic light-emitting diode and a liquid crystal display panel using a 10
Hybrid colloidal quantum dot (CQD) solar cells are fabricated from multilayer stacks of lead sulfide (PbS) CQD and single layer graphene (SG). The inclusion of graphene interlayers is shown to increase power conversion efficiency by 9.18%. It is shown that the inclusion of conductive graphene enhances charge extraction in devices. Photoluminescence shows that graphene quenches emission from the quantum dot suggesting spontaneous charge transfer to graphene. CQD photodetectors exhibit increased p

Two-dimensional (2D) heterostructured or alloyed monolayers composed of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have recently emerged as promising materials with great potential for atomically thin electronic applications. However, fabrication of such artificial TMDC heterostructures with a sharp interface and a large crystal size still remains a challenge because of the difficulty in controlling various growth parameters simultaneously during the growth process. Here, a facile synthetic protoc
