Influence of electrode configurations on the quality factor and piezoelectric coupling constant of solidly mounted bulk acoustic wave resonators
Si‐Hyung Lee, Ki Hyun Yoon, Jeon-Kook Lee
SJR Q2Journal of Applied Physics

This article presents an electrode effect on the quality factor and effective coupling coefficient empirically and theoretically. The possible quality factor detractors in film bulk acoustic wave resonator devices are the acoustic wave attenuation in the metal and piezoelectric films, the wave scattering loss due to the surface roughness, and the electrode electrical loss. Due to the small acoustic wave attenuation of the Mo electrode, the composite Mo–AlN–Mo resonator with the thick electrode p

Understanding Pre-Structured Motifs (PreSMos) in Intrinsically Unfolded Proteins

SJR Q2Current Protein and Peptide Science

Intrinsically unfolded proteins (IUPs) do not obey the golden rule of structural biology, 3D structure = function, as they manifest their inherent functions without resorting to three-dimensional structures. Absence of a compact globular topology in these proteins strongly implies that their ligand recognition processes should involve factors other than spatially well-defined binding pockets. Heteronuclear multidimensional (HetMulD) NMR spectroscopy assisted with a stable isotope labeling techno

SJR Q1Wound Repair and RegenerationOA

Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) exerts positive therapeutic effects on hair thickness and density in patients with pattern hair loss. The aim of our study was to evaluate the efficacy of intra-perifollicular autologous PRP and polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) injections in treating female pattern hair loss (FPHL). Twenty FPHL patients were treated with a single session of PRP injection, followed by 12 sessions of PDRN intra-perifollicular injection, along the scalp at weekly intervals. Addit

Growth of highly c-axis textured AlN films on Mo electrodes for film bulk acoustic wave resonators
Si‐Hyung Lee, Jeon-Kook Lee, Ki Hyun Yoon
SJR Q2Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A Vacuum Surfaces and Films

Highly c-axis textured AlN films on Mo could be obtained using the structural modification of Mo thin films by the reactive rf magnetron sputtering at a low temperature. The correlation of structural properties of Mo and the degree of c-axis texturing in AlN films was studied as a function of sputtering pressure during the dc sputter deposition of Mo. The microstructure and residual stress of Mo films were found to be very dependent on the sputtering pressure. As the pressure decreases and the s

Inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase expression by selective clearing of senescent dermal fibroblasts attenuates ultraviolet-induced photoaging
Haesoo Kim, Jeehee Jang, Min Ji Song, Chi‐Hyun Park, Dong Hun Lee, Si‐Hyung Lee, Jin Ho Chung
SJR Q1Biomedicine & PharmacotherapyOA

Photoaging mainly occurs due to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and is accompanied by increased secretion of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and degradation of collagen. UV radiation induces cell senescence in the skin; however, the role of senescent cells in photoaging remains unclear. Therefore, to elucidate the role of senescent cells in photoaging, we evaluated the effect of senolytics in a photoaging mouse model and investigated the underlying mechanism of their antiaging effect. Both UV-induc

Attenuation of intrinsic ageing of the skin via elimination of senescent dermal fibroblasts with senolytic drugs
H. Kim, Jaehee Jang, Min Ji Song, G Kim, Chan-Hee Park, Dong Hun Lee, Si‐Hyung Lee, Jin Ho Chung
SJR Q1Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and VenereologyOA

BACKGROUND: Skin ageing is caused by numerous factors that result in structural and functional changes in cutaneous components. Research has shown that senescent cells are known to accumulate in skin ageing, however, the role of senescent cells in skin ageing has not been defined. OBJECTIVES: To elucidate the role of the senescent cell in skin ageing, we evaluated the effect of known senolytic drugs on senescent dermal fibroblasts. METHODS: treatment. Cell viability was measured after treatment

Export of membrane proteins from the Golgi complex to the primary cilium requires the kinesin motor, KIFC1
Si‐Hyung Lee, Kwangsic Too, Eun Ji Jung, Hyowon Hong, Jimyung Seo, Joon Kim
SJR Q1The FASEB Journal

Microtubule-based motors contribute to the efficiency and selectivity of Golgi exit and post-Golgi transport of membrane proteins that are targeted to distinct compartments. Cytoplasmic dynein moves post-Golgi vesicles that carry rhodopsin toward the base of the connecting cilium in photoreceptor cells; however, the identity of the motors that are involved in the vesicular trafficking of ciliary membrane proteins in nonphotoreceptor cells remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the minus end-

Elastosis Perforans Serpiginosa
Si‐Hyung Lee, Yuri Choi, Soo‐Chan Kim
SJR Q3Annals of DermatologyOA

Elastosis perforans serpiginosa is a rare skin disease characterized by transepidermal elimination of abnormal elastic fibers. This condition classically presents as small papules arranged in serpiginous or annular patterns on the neck, face, arms, or other flexural areas. While these lesions may spontaneously resolve, they often persist for longer periods of time. Though numerous treatment modalities have been described in the literature, most are not very effective. A 35-year-old man presented

MCRS1 associates with cytoplasmic dynein and mediates pericentrosomal material recruitment
Si‐Hyung Lee, Mi‐Sun Lee, Tae‐Ik Choi, Hyowon Hong, Jun-Young Seo, Cheol‐Hee Kim, Joon Kim
SJR Q1Scientific ReportsOA

MCRS1 is involved in multiple cellular activities, including mitotic spindle assembly, mTOR signaling and tumorigenesis. Although MCRS1 has been reported to bind to the dynein regulator NDE1, a functional interaction between MCRS1 and cytoplasmic dynein remains unaddressed. Here, we demonstrate that MCRS1 is required for dynein-dependent cargo transport to the centrosome and also plays a role in primary cilium formation. MCRS1 localized to centriolar satellites. Knockdown of MCRS1 resulted in a
