15PRP with fractional laser treatment is a good combination therapy for skin rejuvenation. Keratinocyte and fibroblast proliferation and collagen production can explain the capacity of PRP to increase dermal elasticity.
IFUS can be used as a non-invasive, skin-tightening procedure for infraorbital laxity. No serious, permanent, or delayed side effects were noted up to 6 months post treatment. Thus, this procedure can be effective and safe in the treatment of decreased laxity of the lower eyelids.
The plasma fractional radiofrequency and transepidermal delivery of platelet-rich plasma using ultrasound is useful in the treatment of striae distensae.
BACKGROUND: The lesions of idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (IGH) are commonly seen in elderly persons, although this is an often unrecognized skin disease with an obscure etiopathogenesis. The prevalence and clinical features of IGH have not yet been well studied. OBJECTIVES: The purposes of this study were to evaluate the prevalence of IGH in different age groups and to determine the association of IGH with other dermatoses related to photoaging. METHODS: A total of 1174 subjects were examined
HIFU affects deep tissues and impacts focal regions. Monopolar RF also affects deep tissues, but impacts diffuse regions. We believe these data provide further insight into effective skin tightening.
BACKGROUND: Effective penetration of a photosensitizer is an essential step in photodynamic therapy (PDT). There have been trials of several methods, including laser treatment, to facilitate prompt and sufficiently deep transdermal drug delivery. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of nonablative fractional laser pretreatment on 5-aminolaevulinic acid (ALA) penetration of the skin. METHODS: Twelve treatment areas (1 × 1 cm(2)) on the backs of 10 healthy male subjects were mapped. Test areas recei
Cyclic peptoids are emerging as an attractive class of peptidomimetics. Compared to their linear counterparts, cyclic peptoids should have increased conformational rigidity and preorganized structures, enabling them to bind more tightly to target proteins without major entropy penalty. Because cyclic peptoids lack the amide protons in their backbones like linear peptoids, it is perceived that cyclic peptoids are seemingly cell permeable as much as linear peptoids. However, no systematic investig
BACKGROUND: A monopolar radiofrequency device can be used in facial tightening. The device targets the dermis and fibrous septae, and the treatment results in immediate collagen contraction and the induction of subsequent collagen remodeling. AIMS: We aimed to evaluate the histometric change of the subjects treated with a monopolar radiofrequency device using a novel tip. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eleven subjects with skin types III and IV participated in the study. They received a single session o
A variety of regulations are involved in the design of an automobile frontal structure. The regulations are pedestrian protection, the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) part 581 bumper test, and the Research Council for Automobile Repairs (RCAR) test. The frontal structure consists of the bumper system and a crash box that connects the bumper system and the main body. The detailed design of the bumper system is performed to meet two conditions: first, regulation for pedestrian protec
This study provides the first comparison of MTZs induced by various fractional lasers and RF. These data provide basic information on proper laser and RF options. We think that these findings could be a good reference for information about fractional laser-assisted drug delivery.
Skin aging is associated with changes in both the mechanical properties of the skin and extracellular matrix (ECM) components. In this study, we investigated the relationships between mechanical property and aging biomarkers in passaged human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs). The stiffness of HDFs from passages 5-20 was assessed by atomic force microscopy. The ECM components including collagen, elastin, and fibrillin-1 and that of signaling molecules (SIRTs) were determined from each passage of cells.
Hyaluronic acid filler intradermal injection with special injector is a safe and effective method for correction of nasojugal groove.
BACKGROUND: Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) is a major regulator of extracellular matrix (ECM) events, particularly collagen production. AIM: We explored whether the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and collagen are transcriptionally regulated by the TGF-β and Smad signaling pathways, and the roles played by NF-κB and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling in normal, aged, human dermal fibroblasts. METHODS: We quantified mRNA and protein expression using real-time P
