연구실 소개
임수 교수의 연구실은 노화와 대사질환의 상관관계를 중심으로, 노인기의 근육량 감소(사스크레니아)와 비만이 병행되는 '근육질 비만'의 유병률과 대사증후군 간의 연관성을 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 한국의 노인 인구를 대상으로 한 공동체 기반 코hort 연구를 통해 신체 구성과 대사 건강의 상호 영향을 분석하고 있으며, 고령 환자의 당뇨병 관리에 특화된 유비쿼터스 헬스케어 기반 개인 맞춤형 의료 시스템 개발에도 주력하고 있습니다. 이는 노화에 따른 기능 저하를 예방하고, 고령 환자의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 실질적인 임상 전략 마련을 목표로 합니다.
