김수현 교수의 연구실은 간호학과 나노소재 기반의 의료 기기 및 시스템 개발을 주요 연구 분야로 삼고 있습니다. 특히 코로나19 환자 간호에서의 간호사 정신적·신체적 부담을 줄이기 위한 간호사 적응 과정 분석과 동시에, 블랙포스포러스 같은 신소재를 활용한 전기적·광학적 특성 제어 및 안정화 기술 개발도 진행하고 있습니다. 이는 의료 현장의 실질적 문제 해결과 신소재 기반의 혁신적 의료 기기 개발을 연결하는 융복합 연구를 추구합니다.
