연구실 소개
허성혁 교수 연구실은 뇌경색과 뇌혈관 질환의 발생 메커니즘을 규명하고자, 특히 carotid 동맥 플라크의 불안정성과 관련된 분자 생물학적 기전에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. MMP-2, MMP-9, ABCA1과 같은 단백질의 발현이 플라크 파열과 뇌졸중 발생에 미치는 영향을 면역조직화학적·임상적 접근을 통해 연구하고 있으며, 치료적 타겟으로서의 가능성도 탐색하고 있습니다. 또한 당뇨병 환자나 뇌경색 환자에서의 동맥경화 진행 억제를 위한 약물(예: 실로스타졸)의 효과를 초음파를 활용해 평가하고 있습니다.
