연구실 소개

김성완 교수의 연구실은 생분해성 고분자 및 생체적합성 재료를 중심으로, 약물 및 유전자 전달 시스템, 생체재료의 표면 기능화, 온도 민감성 고분자 거품(진동) 거동 등에 대한 기초 및 응용 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 특히, 고분자 구조와 상전이 특성 간의 상관관계를 규명하고, 생체 내 안정성과 생체적합성을 동시에 확보한 신소재 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 이는 의료용 소재 및 첨단 바이오디스플레이 기술의 발전에 기여하고 있습니다.

Abstract The swelling of crosslinked poiy( N , N ′‐alkyl substituted acrylamides) in water was studied in relation to temperature changes. Aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene glycol-b-[DL-lactic acid-co-glycolic acid]-b-ethylene glycol) (PEG-PLGA-PEG) triblock copolymers form a free-flowing sol at room temperature and become a gel at body temperature. In this study, in situ gel formation was investigated in rats. Upon subcutaneous injection of 33 wt % aqueous solutions of PEG-PLGA-PEG triblock copolymer into rats, transparent gels were observed. Heparin was immobilized onto segmented polyurethane-urea surfaces (Biomer) using hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) spacers of different chain lengths. The use of the hydrophilic spacer, poly(ethylene oxide), reduces protein adsorption and subsequent platelet adhesion on the surface. In addition, the bioactivity of the immobilized heparin is enhanced by the incorporation of these spacers. Immobilized heparin bioactivity is shown to be a function of PEO spacer length.
