연구실 소개
변성완 교수의 연구실은 청각 건강과 청력 장애의 기초 및 임상적 기반을 마련하기 위해 청력 임계치의 연령 및 성별 차이를 분석하고, 고해상도 청취 검사 기준 자료를 제시합니다. 또한 망막 공기세포계의 정량적 분석을 위한 영상 분석 기술 개발과 함께, 한국어 말하기 청력 검사에 적합한 표준화된 어휘 목록(phonetically balanced word list)의 개발과 정제를 위해 언어학적 빈도 분석 및 컴퓨터 기반 분석 기법을 활용합니다. 연구는 임상적 적용과 정책 수립에 기여할 수 있는 정밀하고 객관적인 데이터 기반의 청각의학 연구를 지향합니다.

15The data from KNHANES 2010-2012 showed gender differences at hearing thresholds of 3 kHz, 4 kHz, and 6 kHz in a highly-screened population. The most significant gender difference in relation to hearing threshold was observed at 4 kHz. The hearing thresholds at all of the tested frequencies worsened with increasing age. Despite a very strong correlation between the two thresholds, H3k and H24k showed clinically large LOAs. Therefore, it would be improper to substitute H24k for H3k in an individual requesting a hearing disability rating. However, since the overall means of the H3k and H24k samples were nearly equal, H24k can replace H3k for a mean comparison of results between studies. This result supports the 1995 Committee on Hearing and Equilibrium guideline.
