박성용 교수의 연구실은 심혈관계 질환의 조기 위험 요인 분석과 나노소재의 광학적 특성 및 응용을 중심으로 다학제적 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 특히 청소년 및 청년층의 고혈압, 비만과 심혈관질환 간의 연관성에 대한 임상 연구와 함께, 금속 나노입자 집합체의 구조 및 표면 플라즈몬 공명 특성에 대한 이론적·실험적 분석을 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 방사선 치료 계획의 정밀도 향상을 위한 새로운 복사량 분포 평가 지표 개발에도 기여하고 있습니다. 이처럼 의학적 응용과 나노물리학의 융합을 통해 실용적인 기술 혁신을 추구하고 있습니다.

15Among Korean young adults, stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension, compared with normal blood pressure, were associated with increased risk of subsequent cardiovascular disease events. The goal of the present study was to develop a new dose-volume histogram (DVH)- based homogeneity index for effectively evaluating the dose homogeneity of intensity-modulated radiotherapy plans. The new index, called the sigma-index ("S-index") is defined as the standard deviation of the normalized differential DVH curve.
