연구실 소개
조태홍 교수의 연구실은 음성의 생리적 기반과 음운 구조의 상호작용을 중심으로, 말의 발화에서 발생하는 운율, 강세, 문장 경계 등 prosodic 요소가 음소적 특성과 발음 방식에 미치는 영향을 전자기 운동추적장치(EMA)와 전기구강압측정기(EPG)를 활용해 체계적으로 분석합니다. 특히 강세와 문장 경계가 모음의 형성과 자음의 지속시간, 발음 운동의 시간적 조율에 어떻게 영향을 주는지에 중점을 두고 있으며, 다양한 언어(영어, 한국어 등)에서의 음운-음성 인터페이스를 탐구합니다. 이는 언어의 발화 구조와 음성의 생리적 실현 간의 관계를 이해하는 데 기여합니다.

This study explores the relationship between prosodic strengthening and linguistic contrasts in English by examining temporal realization of nasals (N-duration) in CVN# and #NVC, and their coarticulatory influence on vowels (V-nasalization). Results show that different sources of prosodic strengthening bring about different types of linguistic contrasts.
