연구실 소개
김태정 교수의 연구실은 고에너지 물리학 분야에서 활동하며, CERN의 대형 하드론 충돌기(LHC)에서 수행되는 ATLAS 및 CMS 실험을 중심으로 힉스 보손의 질량 측정과 상호작용 특성에 대한 정밀 측정을 수행하고 있습니다. 특히 힉스 보손의 붕괴 모드(H→γγ, H→ZZ→4ℓ 등)와 다양한 생성 메커니즘(글루온 융합, 벡터 보손 융합 등)을 분석하여 표준모형의 정합성과 새로운 물리학의 가능성을 탐색하고 있습니다. 연구는 데이터 통합 분석과 입자 흐름 재구성(PF reconstruction) 기술을 기반으로 하여, 고성능 검출기의 특성을 최대한 활용하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.

The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector is described. The detector operates at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. A measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the H→γγ and H→ZZ→4ℓ decay channels. The results are obtained from a simultaneous fit to the reconstructed invariant mass peaks in the two channels and for the two experiments. The measured masses from the individual channels and the two experiments are found to be consistent among themselves. The combined measured mass of the Higgs boson is m_{H}=125.09±0.21
