김원배 교수의 연구실은 나노소재 합성과 응용, 특히 전도성 고분자 및 티타니아 기반 나노복합재를 중심으로 한 에너지 변환 및 저장 소재 개발에 주력하고 있습니다. 전기화학적 방법을 활용한 다기능성 나노소재의 설계 및 특성 분석을 통해 수소 생산, 탄소모노옥시드 산화를 통한 전기 생성 등 친환경 에너지 기술의 핵심 소재를 연구하고 있습니다. 또한 객체지향 데이터베이스 시스템의 쿼리 처리 및 모델링 기법에 대한 이론적 연구도 병행하고 있어, 소재 공학과 정보기술의 융합 연구가 두드러집니다.

Electricity was produced by catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) by using gold catalysts at room temperature. The observed rates are faster than conventional processes operating at 500 kelvin or higher for the conversion of CO with water to produce hydrogen and carbon dioxide through the water-gas shift (WGS).
