이원재 교수의 연구실은 인간 행동과 사회적 상호작용의 심리적 기반을 밝히는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 공중보건 위기 상황에서 분노와 정서가 잘못된 정보 확산에 어떻게 기여하는지, 그리고 사회적 네트워크의 구조적 유사성이 갈등으로 이어지는 메커니즘을 분석합니다. 이와 더불어, 생체 모방형 로봇 제어 시스템과 도시 내 인간 이동 패턴 예측 모델링을 통해 실생활 문제 해결에 기여하고자 합니다. 연구는 심리학, 사회학, 공학의 융합적 접근을 통해 이루어집니다.

15A survey conducted over South Korean adults (N=513) reveals that emotions, specifically anger, contribute to the broader spread of misinformation on COVID-19 by leading angry individuals to consider false claims to be “scientifically credible.” This pattern is more evident among conservatives than liberals. Our finding sheds light on new measures and journalistic interventions that could alleviate the public’s anger and foster science-based conversations during a public health crisis.
