연구실 소개

김용구 교수 연구실은 뇌-장 축의 신경면역학적 상호작용을 중심으로 정신건강 장애의 신생물학적 기반을 규명하고 있습니다. 특히 우울증, 조현병, 양극성 장애 등 정신질환에서 면역반응, 사이토카인 변화, 트립토판 대사 이상과 같은 신체적 생리적 변화가 어떻게 뇌 기능과 정서조절에 영향을 미치는지 연구하고 있습니다. 또한 멜라토닌, 리튬 등 신경보호적 작용을 보이는 물질의 면역조절 기전에 초점을 맞추며, 정신질환의 새로운 치료 전략 개발을 목표로 하고 있습니다.
