SJR Q1Journal of Clinical MicrobiologyOA

To examine the role of rotavirus (Rv) and adenovirus types 40 and 41 (Ad40/41) in Korean children with acute gastroenteritis, we evaluated 345 children with acute gastroenteritis and 90 children without acute gastroenteritis in Seoul, Korea, during a 29-month period. Stools were tested for group A Rv antigen and for Ad40/41 by using monoclonal antibody (MAb)-based assays. Rv was found in 68% of the ill children and 19% of the controls (P less than 0.001), whereas Ad40/41 was detected in 9% of th

Collaborative occupancy reasoning in visual sensor network for scalable smart video surveillance

SJR Q1IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics

Video surveillance is a popular consumer application that is used for various purposes such as public safety, facilities surveillance, and traffic monitoring. In a general video surveillance system, video streams from cameras are sent to a control center and operators monitor the videos. But human operator monitoring of the views every moment of every day is almost impossible; so, smart surveillance systems are required, systems that are capable of automated scene analysis. There are a number of

SJR Q1European Heart JournalOA

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Emerging evidence supports artificial intelligence-enhanced electrocardiogram (AI-ECG) for detecting acute myocardial infarction (AMI), but real-world validation is needed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of AI-ECG in detecting AMI in the emergency department (ED). METHODS: The Rule-Out acute Myocardial Infarction using Artificial intelligence Electrocardiogram analysis (ROMIAE) study is a prospective cohort study conducted in the Republic of Korea from

SJR Q1BMJ OpenOA

OBJECTIVES: To identify the risk of bias of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) referenced in the 2015 American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines update for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency cardiovascular care (ECC). DESIGN: A cross-sectional review. SETTING: All RCTs cited as references in the 2015 AHA guidelines update for CPR and ECC were extracted. After excluding non-human trials, studies that analysed existing RCTs, and RCTs published in a letter format, two reviewers ass

SJR Q1BMJ OpenOA

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate whether oral ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, ofloxacin and moxifloxacin increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmia in Korea's general population. DESIGN: Population-based cohort study using administrative claims data on a national scale in Korea. SETTING: All primary, secondary and tertiary care settings from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2015. PARTICIPANTS: Patients who were prescribed the relevant study medications at outpatient visits. PRIMARY OUTCOME MEASURES: Each patie

SJR Q1Scientific ReportsOA

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance achieved by using fully-connected small artificial neural networks (ANNs) and a simple training process, the Kim-Monte Carlo algorithm, to detect the location of pneumothorax in chest X-rays. A total of 1,000 chest X-ray images with pneumothorax were taken randomly from NIH (the National Institutes of Health) public image database and used as the training and test sets. Each X-ray image with pneumothorax was divided into 49 box

SJR Q1ToxinsOA

Kovax® antivenom is the main treatment for toxins produced by the Gloydius species. However, research on adverse reactions after Kovax® antivenom administration is scarce. We aimed to identify the incidence and characteristics of adverse reactions after Kovax® antivenom administration. We conducted a retrospective review of the medical records of snakebite patients in Korea between January 2008 and September 2019. We identified the frequency, characteristics, and treatments of adverse reactions

SJR Q2Journal of Personalized MedicineOA

The rapid antigen test (RAT) has been adopted as a screening tool for SARS-CoV-2 infection in many emergency departments (EDs). We aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of the accuracy of the SARS-CoV-2 RAT as a screening tool in the ED. This retrospective observational study included patients who underwent both RAT and RT−PCR and visited the ED from 1 December 2021 to 15 March 2022. RAT and RT−PCR were performed by appropriately trained physicians. We performed detailed analyses using the E

Arterial Blood Gas Analysis for Survival Prediction in Pediatric Patients with Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest
Sang Hwan Lee, Hyungoo Shin, Yongil Cho, Jaehoon Oh, Hyuk Joong Choi
SJR Q2Journal of Personalized MedicineOA

Arterial blood gas analysis (ABGA) is one of the few tests performed during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). There have been some studies on the prediction of survival outcomes in adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients during CPR using ABGA results. However, in pediatric OHCA patients, the prognosis of survival outcome based on ABGA results during CPR remains unclear. We retrospectively analyzed prospectively collected data from the Korean Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Consortiu
