연구실 소개

이 교수의 연구실은 기후변화와 기상재해의 기초 메커니즘을 규명하고, 이를 바탕으로 장기 기상예측 및 대기질 예측 기술을 개발하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 동아시아의 집중호우, 기상패atters의 예측가능성, PM2.5 농도 변화 등 기후-대기질 연계 문제를 다루며, 고해상도 기후모델과 관측 데이터 기반의 정밀 분석을 통해 기후위기 대응에 기여하고자 합니다. 최근에는 기상현상의 비정상성과 예측 정확도 향상을 위한 모델 개선 및 장기 기록 데이터 구축에도 주력하고 있습니다.

Markov Chain Analysis of Rainfall over East Asia: Unusual Frequency, Persistence, and Entropy in the Summer 2020

Record-breaking rainfall occurred over East Asia during the summer of 2020. However, in which aspect the summer of 2020 can be differentiated from the other years remains to be quantified. To this end, this study employs Markov chain analysis to quantify summer rainfall variability over East Asia using three Markov descriptors for heavy precipitation events of over 10 mm day−1: frequency, persistence, and entropy (i.e., irregularity).
