서보경, 오유환, HyungRaeKim, HongWeonKim, ChangHoKang, NamJoonLee, JungHyukKim, BumJinPark, KyuRanCho, 이준영, KiYeoulLee, JeoungWonBae

Objective: To compare the use of conventional, real-time compound, and pulse-inversion harmonic imaging in the evaluation of breast nodules. Materials and Methods: Fifty-two breast nodules were included in this study, conducted between May and December 2000, in which conventional, real-time compound, and pulse-inversion harmonic images were obtained in the same plane. Three radiologists, each blinded to the interpretations of the other two, evaluated the findings, characterizing the lesions and

Mycotic Pulmonary Artery Aneurysm as an Unusual Complication of Thoracic Actinomycosis
Hyung Soo Kim, 오유환, Hyung Jun Noh, 이기열, 강은영, Sang Yeub Lee

Infectious or mycotic aneurysms involving intrapulmonary arteries are a rare vascular abnormality, which can occur in association with a variety of microorganisms, such as bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Treponema pallidum, but rarely with fungi (1 4). Radiologic manifestations of thoracic actinomycosis are diverse, which include peripheral air-space consolidation, mass like opacity, cavitation, hilar or mediastinal lymphadenopa

Extraskeletal Ewing’s sarcoma (EES) is a branch of neuroectodermal tumor (PNET), which is very rare soft tissue sarcoma. We report a case of EES/PNET arising is the lung of a 67-yr-old man. Computed tomography, bone scintigraphy, and positron emission tomography confirmed the mass to have a primary pulmonary origin. The mass showed positive reactivity in the Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS) stain and MIC-2 immunoreactivity in immunohistochemical stain. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) was per

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate new cardiac deformity indexes (CDIs) for diagnosis of pectus excavatum as well as morphological assessment of heart on computed tomography (CT). Materials and Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the CT images of the control group (n=200), and the pectus excavatum before and after correction groups (n=178), and calculated the CDIs; cardiac compression index (CCI), and cardiac asymmetry index (CAI). We also calculated chest wall compression index (C

Lung Metastases Manifesting as Pulmonary Infarction by Mucin and Tumor Embolization: Radiographic, High-Resolution CT, and Pathologic Findings

SJR Q3Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography

We present a case of lung metastasis manifesting as lung infarction by mucin and tumor embolization. The radiograph and high-resolution CT showed multiple focal consolidations with ground glass attenuation in subpleural areas of both lungs. Diagnosis was made by open lung biopsy, which revealed pulmonary infarction caused by intravascular adenocarcinoma with numerous mucus emboli in pulmonary arteries. Subpleurally located consolidations on high-resolution CT correlated well with the histologic

Imaging Findings of Castleman’s Disease Localized in the Axilla:A Case Report
서보경, 오유환, KyuRanCho, NamJoonLee, JungHyukKim, 김인선, SeongJinCho, JeoungWonBae

Castleman's disease is a rare benign lymphoproliferative disorder of uncertain origin which most commonly involves the mediastinum but rarely affects the axilla. We report a case of localized Castleman's disease involving the axillary lymph node. Mammography revealed a well-defined, homogeneously dense ovoid mass, 3 cm in size, in the left axilla, while gray-scale ultrasonography (US) demonstrated a well-defined, uniformly hypoechoic ovoid mass with good through transmission. Peripheral hypervas

SJR Q3Diagnostic Cytopathology

Pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) is a rare and aggressive intrathoracic neoplasm of childhood, typically presenting as a pulmonary and/or pleural-based mass with cystic, solid, or combined features. Histologically, the tumor is well characterized with a mixture of primitive mesenchymal and variably differentiated sarcomatous components, and the cytologic features described in the three previous reports are also compatible to the histologic ones. Now, we present another case of PPB showing unusual

Journal of Breast Cancer

Purpose: This study was designed to investigate differences in ultrasonographic findings between malignant and benign mammary duct ectasia. Methods: From January 2003 to June 2005, 54 surgically proven mammary duct ectasia lesions depicted on sonograms were included in this study. We evaluated the ultrasonographic (US) findings in terms of involved ductal location, size, margin, intraductal echogenicity, presence of an intraductal nodule, calcification, ductal wall thickening and echo changes of

Journal of Breast Cancer

Primary breast lymphoma is a rare disease entity, particularly the T-cell type. There have been many case reports of primary breast lymphomas; however, these are mostly pathologic reports, with only a few reports in radiology literature. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the radiologic features of primary T-cell type breast lymphoma, including mammography, ultrasonography, MR imaging, and 18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography scan. The rad

http://kmbase.medric.or.kr/Main.aspx?d=KMBASE&m=VIEW&i=0191120080230040691

This study was done to demonstrate the computed tomography (CT) and pathologic findings of the sequential changes for experimental pulmonary fat embolism (PFE), and to correlate the CT and pathologic findings of rabbit lung. PFE was induced by an intravenous injection of 0.2 mL linoleic acid in 24 rabbits. The rabbits were divided into 4 groups of 6 rabbits each. CT scans were obtained sequentially at 2 hr (n= 24), day 1 (n=18), day 3 (n=12) and day 7 (n=6) after fat embolization. The pathologic

Objective: This multi-center, randomized, double-blind, phase 3 trial was conducted to compare the safety and efficacy of contrast agents iohexol-380 and iohexol-350 for coronary CT angiography in healthy subjects. Materials and Methods: Volunteers were randomized to receive 420 mgI/kg of either iohexol-350 or iohexol-380 using a flow rate of 4 mL/sec. All adverse events were recorded. Two blinded readers independently reviewed the CT images and conflicting results were resolved by a third reade

Atypical Radiological Manifestation of Pulmonary Metastatic Calcification
강은해, 김은선, 김철환, Soo-Youn Ham, 오유환

Metastatic pulmonary calcification refers to calcium deposition in the normal pulmonary parenchyma and this deposition is secondary to abnormal calcium metabolism. The most common radiologic manifestation consists of poorlydefined nodular opacities that are mainly seen in the upper lung zone. We present here a case of metastatic pulmonary calcification that manifested as atypical, dense, calcium deposition in airspaces within the previously existing consolidation in the bilateral lower lobes, an

An Adenocarcinoma of Lung with Unusual Very Slow Growth -A case report-

Journal of Lung CancerOA

The prognosis of lung cancer is very poor. Patients with lung cancer have usually no symptom in early stage or some mild cough, sputum. When patient feel weight loss or dyspnea, majority of patients with lung cancer are advanced stage and inoperable. The growth rate of lung cancer is different according to cell type of tumor and related to prognosis. Generally, tumor doubling time (TDT) of lung cancer has been known that small cell lung cancer is about 65 days, squamous cell carcinoma is about 9
