METHODS: The authors enrolled 860 women (median time since diagnosis, 5.86 years) with a history of cervical cancer (stage I to IVa) who had been treated at any of 6 hospitals from 1983 through 2004 and 494 control subjects selected randomly from a representative sample of Korean women. PURPOSE: To determine whether an Internet-based tailored education program is effective for disease-free cancer survivors with cancer-related fatigue (CRF). PATIENTS AND METHODS: We randomly assigned patients who had completed primary cancer treatment within the past 24 months in any of four Korean hospitals and had reported moderate to severe fatigue for at least 1 week to participate in a 12-week, Internet-based, individually tailored CRF education program or to receive routine care. We based

RESULTS A total of 481 patients and 381 family caregivers completed the questionnaire. A majority of patient
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to validate the Korean version of the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI-K), a pain assessment tool that has been validated in several languages. METHODS: The sample consisted of 132 patients in Seoul who had recurrent or metastatic cancer and who expressed pain. The Korean version of the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-K), the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status score, the Pain Management Index (PMI), and the PMI-Revised (PMI-R) were used to f
OBJECTIVES: We conducted this study to identify factors influencing the burdens cancer brings to a patient's family and to evaluate the association between the burdens and the caregiver's quality of life (QOL). METHODS: Participants were drawn from the primary family caregivers of cancer patients at 6 university hospitals and the National Cancer Center in Korea. Of the 738 eligible caregivers, 704 (95.4%) completed the questionnaire packets (Family Impact Questions and Caregiver's QOL-Cancer). R
Our findings show that there are various functional and symptomatic problems, which health care providers need to manage during the postsurgical period. We need to continuously address fatigue, diarrhea, dysphagia, eating restrictions, body image disturbance, and cognitive functioning. In addition, it would be necessary to inform patients about possible QOL outcomes while they are receiving information about surgery and signing informed consent for surgery.
As "mukbang" (eating broadcast) becomes increasingly widespread, there is growing interest about the impact of mukbang on public health. This study aimed to analyze the content of mukbang YouTube videos, as well as news articles related to mukbang and the association between watching mukbang videos and health habits. We analyzed 5952 YouTube mukbang videos, 5265 news articles, and a survey of 1200 people in Korea. In this study, we confirmed that the provocative content of mukbang YouTube videos
