연구실 소개

박영주 교수의 연구실은 갑상선암의 분자유전학적 기반을 규명하고, 특히 BRAF V600E 돌연변이, TERT 프로모터 돌연변이, CDKN2A 손실 등 암 진행과 예후에 영향을 미치는 핵심 유전자 변이를 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 다양한 갑상선암 유형(분화형 갑상선암, 무분화성 갑상선암 등)의 유전체 및 전사체 분석을 통해 임상적 예측 모델 개발과 개인화 치료 전략 수립을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 특히, 분화형 갑상선암의 악성도와 전이 위험도를 평가하는 데 유용한 분자 마커를 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다.

BACKGROUND: Recent reports suggest that mutations in the promoter of the gene encoding telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) affect thyroid cancer outcomes.
