15We propose polarization-independent and dual-broadband metamaterial absorbers at microwave frequencies. This is a periodic meta-atom array consisting of metal-dielectric-multilayer truncated cones. We demonstrate not only one broadband absorption from the fundamental magnetic resonances but additional broadband absorption in high-frequency range using the third-harmonic resonance, by both simulation and experiment. In simulation, the absorption was over 90% in 3.93-6.05 GHz, and 11.64-14.55 GHz.
We numerically and experimentally studied an ultrathin and broadband perfect absorber by enhancing the bandwidth with embedded resistors into the metamaterial structure, which is easy to fabricate in order to lower the Q -factor and by using multiple resonances with the patches of different sizes. We analyze the absorption mechanism in terms of the impedance matching with the free space and through the distribution of surface current at each resonance frequency. The magnetic field, induced by th
These findings suggest that LPC induces the overproduction of NO, which may increase the oxidative stress on endothelial cells and lead to endothelial cell injury.
The Korean version of the GHQ-12 could be used to screen for individuals at high risk of mental disorders, namely mood and anxiety disorders.
PROBLEM: The stability and dominance of Lactobacillus spp. in vaginal fluid are important for reproductive health. However, the characterization of the vaginal microbiota of women with preterm labor (PTL) or preterm premature rupture of membranes (P-PROM), and its association with preterm birth (PTB) are poorly understood. METHOD OF STUDY: We collected vaginal fluid from women at risk of PTB (n = 58) in five university hospitals in Korea. We performed a hierarchical clustering analysis and class
AIM: This study reviews the historical development of injury severity scoring systems and their application to clinical practice. BACKGROUND: A variety of injury severity scoring systems have been developed and applied since more than four decades. It is increasingly important for nurses to be familiar with these scoring systems, their strengths and weaknesses, and their applications to nursing practice. DESIGN: Systematic literature review. METHODS: The injury severity scoring systems developed
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the measured fall risk score that more accurately reflects the changeable conditions in acute care settings, and to efficiently evaluate the association between falls and fall risk score. BACKGROUND: The Morse Fall Scale (MFS) is a well-known easy-to-use tool, while the Johns Hopkins Fall Risk Assessment Tool (JHFRAT) consists of items with high specificity. Evaluating suitable fall-risk assessment tools to measure these changeable conditions may contribute to pr
This study suggests that cessation programs need to take a holistic approach and should consider these factors in setting up.
