서윤석 교수의 연구실은 위암의 조기 진단과 치료 전략 개선을 핵심으로 삼고 있으며, 특히 국가암검진사업의 효과 분석과 병원 내 치료비용 분석을 통해 국민 건강과 의료 효율성 향상에 기여하고자 합니다. 최신 내 endoscopic 수술 기법인 단일공 복강경 위절제술 및 라미나리아스터리스 성형술의 임상적 안정성과 장기적 예후를 다각도로 평가하고 있으며, 암의 분자생물학적 기전, 특히 PAI-1의 발현이 림프절 전이와 관련이 있음을 규명하는 데에도 주력하고 있습니다. 이와 함께 위암의 해부학적 특성과 예후 인자 간의 관계를 체계적으로 분석하여 개인화된 치료 전략 수립에 기여하고 있습니다.
